On November 15 – 18, 2022, in Frankfurt, Germany, Zortrax will show its new products at the renowned, international 3D printing fairs, Formnext 2022, in Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Center/Messe Frankfurt, hall 11.1 stand C28. This edition will be abundant in surprises! We will officially present the Powerful Trio, a newly released resin 3D printing ecosystem, and new high-end photopolymers from world-leading resin manufacturers, Henkel/Loctite and BASF Forward AM. We will also exhibit a brand-new medical 3D printer and materials for metal 3D printing on their way to join our portfolio soon!
Zortrax Powerful Trio and Engineering Resins
We have recently launched Zortrax Powerful Trio, a comprehensive resin 3D printing & post-processing system, consisting of Zortrax Inkspire 2 UV LCD 3D printer, Zortrax Cleaning Station, and Zortrax Curing Station with a range of engineering resins by top global manufacturers, like Henkel/Loctite and BASF Forward AM. Zortrax Powerful Trio has been thoroughly tested in a double validation process to guarantee the properties of models 3D printed and post-processed on new Zortrax machines meet or exceed the resin manufacturers’ specification and have been approved by both partners. Formnext 2022 is an excellent opportunity to experience the capabilities of the machines and top-grade materials live and learn more about their features from both Zortrax as well as Henkel/Loctite and BASF Forward AM’s representatives who will be present at our stand.
“Zortrax and BASF Forward AM joined forces already in the early stages of the machine development, allowing a well-thought-through validation process and excellent fit of resins to the Inkspire 2 characteristics. The unique composition of the printer’s high intensity UV light engine, easy, automated, and user-friendly Cleaning and Curing Stations are a perfect match with the Ultracur3D® resins, resulting in faster curing and post-processing times,” says dr Piotr A. Bazuła, Global Key Account and Business Development at BASF.
The range of BASF Ultracur3D® resins calibrated on the Zortrax Inkspire 2 is set to significantly grow in the future. Zortrax has been cooperating with BASF also on FDM materials, and our offer is going to be expanded here, too. Formnext attendees will be the first to get to know which new materials will soon join our offer in both categories.
At our stand, all participants will also have a chance to get acquainted with professional Tough resins by Henkel/Loctite. Tough resins can endure very high loads before they break, and hence they are perfect for 3D printing mechanically strong, wear and tear resistant, load-bearing components.
“Zortrax is an excellent system for anyone needing to produce high-quality parts consistently. Combining the Zortrax resin system and Loctite materials can add value to designers, manufacturers, universities and many more,” underlines Maarten Adolf, Senior Business Development Manager – 3D printing Europe at Henkel AG & Co. KGaA.
Metal 3D Printing for Zortrax Endureal and Other Novelties
We constantly develop our portfolio and at Formnext 2022 we will show new materials for Zortrax Endureal, our industrial LPD Plus 3D printer. The true novelty in our offer will be packages dedicated to metal 3D printing: Zortrax Full Metal Package 316L with BASF Ultrafuse® 316L and Zortrax Full Metal Package 17-4 PH with BASF Ultrafuse® 17-4. Another advanced material available on Endureal will be Victrex AM 200 FIL (PAEK), developed for a wide range of demanding applications due to its very high resistance o abrasion, heat, and corrosion even in contact with liquids or chemicals.
Another dual-extrusion 3D printer, Zortrax M300 Dual, in turn, will get new printing profiles for external materials in Z-SUITE. The range of filaments will be extended with filaments from such manufacturers as Kimya, Nanovia and 3DxTech.
At Formnext 2022, our team will also present 4D models: first successful demonstrators with electrically activated movement printed on the M300 Dual 3D printer under a European Space Agencycontract. 4D printing technology means that 3D models can change their geometry under the influence of external stimuli (e.g. structures that fold when the ambient temperature falls below a certain value, or mechanisms in which movement is activated electrically). In this joint project, the 4D printing capability was achieved using multi-material printing feature currently under development for Z-SUITE software.
Last, but not least, if you are not able to come to Formnext fairs, we’ve got something for you, too. Here’s a nod towards our 3D printers’ users, and the solution they have been waiting for: a tool allowing to convert .gcode file to .zcode and .zcodex2 formats is already available! From now on, all users of any slicers other than Z-SUITE, can follow a few simple steps to get a .zcode or .zcodex2 file to 3D print on any Zortrax LPD or LPD Plus machine. In order to download the tool, go to the Downloads section at Zortrax Support Center: https://support.zortrax.com/downloads/.
Formnext 2022 attendees will also have a unique chance to learn more about Zortrax new comprehensive solution for medical customers. We have developed a brand-new 3D printer and a complementing software to bring new quality to 3D printing for a medical sector.
